SARA SAYS…
Hugging the corner of Adelaide and Toronto Streets in a friendly embrace, BLD is poised to become your best pal—the one who is there for you at all times of day, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Proprietor Lynda Angelucci is not an ingénue in the care and feeding of guests. She knows exactly what we really feel like eating—whenever.
Before caring for the inner being, she made certain that we were physically comfortable. Even the unique bar stools make dining at the bar a comfort zone. Leather banquettes and chairs in the dining room and the private dining room, prettily enclosed by glass doors, all achieve an easy- going ambience.
Go for Sunday Brunch and be rewarded with eggs done in magnificent ways or maybe banana bread French toast, or explore the Egg in a Hole! Check out the list of unusual imported Tea. Lynda’s lunch menu reminds me of everything I’d really like to try, like short rib grilled cheese; grilled flank steak salad or grilled wild prawn sandwich. Time restraints? No problem. Dinner for downtowners or those who are planning to stay out on the town includes market fish, pastas, steaks and salads, all posted at surprisingly moderate prices. The personality of the ever-present owner is reflected here.
